Roller furler Genoa - Size
« on: October 26, 2021, 08:14:45 pm »
Hi all,  i have a CSY44 WO and am now nearing the end of a full year of rebuild.

I am on the rigging and sails and need a new RFG.

does anyone have the dimensions for a RFG?  i am being lazy but i also want a check against the measurements i will take today.

launching on 25 November and then will tackle the running rigging.
Cheers

BearWells'
We had a 44 WT with the tall 64' mast.  I ordered a new 120% jib for our circumnavigation and found it to be a bit too large for normal conditions crossing the Pacific.  I should have ordered a 110%, cut so that I  could see under it when heeled 15 degrees.  Your sailing conditions might be different, but I would not go over 120%, especially if you use the stay sail with it.  Then consider a light air sail for conditions under 10 knots.  See our new sail specifications here:

Just make sure if you are comparing sizes/specs with someone else, you know whether you have a Tall Mast or standard rig.  Makes a big difference!
Attached is the standard rig sail plan from the designer.  With a big lightweight Genoa and a high cut Yankee for Caribbean winter sailing.
