Engine removal

Due to a transmission problem, it may have to be removed. In order to do so we may need to move the engine forward or lift it out. The other challenge is to dismantle the cabinetry. Does anyone have experience doing this? Do you know if the cabinet is 'glassed and/or bolted' on?
The transmission is a hurth. The cables are working so the thought is it is an internal problem. Any suggestions?

Care to post here on how you resolved your problem with the transmission--what the problem ultimately was, and did you have to remove the engine to get to it?

Sassea,  Just a note on the Hurth tranny. I had a 4-108, with a Hurth on another boat, and about 600 hrs into service it would not shift.
Mine was not water cooled and I discovered that the heat is an issue. Had it rebuilt by an outfit on the west coast , Tampa, I think. Not a lot of money. Sounds like you are going to pull the tranny, so might as well bite the bullet and have it rebuilt.
