Solenoid on CSY 33
« on: October 10, 2019, 10:33:27 AM »
Perkins 4.108:  Where is the solenoid located? I can't find a mention of it in the engine manual. Forum mentions a solenoid, but I am so clueless as to where to look. The main problem is the starter button feels loose, but before I change it, research indicated the problem could be the solenoid. Now I can't find the solenoid.

Usually, the solenoid is located on the starter itself. Either on the top or side. I have a 4-154 and the solenoid is on top. They are cheap but don't know if you can change it without pulling the starter which is heavy and difficult to access. FYI. solenoids are simple and tough and don't fail often. I would suspect a wiring issue.
