Converting Walk-Over to Walk-Through?
« on: February 08, 2015, 09:46:01 PM »
Has anyone every done this? We love the CSY 44 but we're more interested in the Walk-Through than the Walk-Over. That said, I'm a carpenter and built our last boat. I'm pretty confident in my abilities, but I'm wondering if anyone has considered or complete a conversion?

I like the idea of a dual entrance, similar to the Peterson 44 or the Whitby 42. But with the CSY... I wont have to duck!! (I'm 6'3")

Thanks!!!

Jason

Jason,

Converting a 44WO to a 44WT would be a very difficult, time consuming and expensive project.  The two have the same hulls but radically different decks, cabin tops and interiors.  You would be much better off buying Steve S boat and finishing off the refit.

I second that.
A No-Go from the beginning.
Much easier to get used to the Walk Over configuration:))
