Jim: there is no way it can be done in the boat. pulled mine out.I just cant justify spending the money for a repower when a rebuild solution is available.  Ed

Parts for the 154 are still out there, about to rebuild mine.TAD has lots of parts, even fresh water pumps. got a quote for a over haul kit for 2000$ and the machine work for 1500$. I will do the assembly myself. I estimate the total cost will be %5000 when all is done....it has lasted 32 years till now so a rebuild should out last my needs....Ed

Engle also makes a conversion drop in unit for $799.00 . it will handle 3.5 cubic ft with 2'' of insulation as a frig or 2 cubic ft freezer, maybe larger with more insulation !!!!!.... with a very low amp draw.

Head gasket looks good, no spots of intrusion from the water jackets.
The PO said he had the the head welded due to a crack around the Injector boss on the third hole.
good news though ,found a complete rebuild kit. from a Massey Ferguson dealer
for 700$ including a new crank. just need to find a head!
