Hello Bolobow,

I was just at Harbortown Marina right after the 1st of the year visiting a friend that is wintering there on his Island Packet. Wish I would have known. Are you heading anywhere this winter?

Hull and Rig / Re: measures of the mast
« on: January 16, 2021, 10:49:55 am »
Hello Sue & Erik,

I just finished a 10 year refit on my CSY 44 walkover. I have the mast winches as I found some self tailing to replace them with. I will be happy to donate them to your cause. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I have a bit of experience as I have rebuilt practically every inch of mine as well.

Congratulations on the new boat. You will love her. Is she ready to go or does she need work? Where is the boat located?

Good Day,

I just installed my mast last summer for the first time. I used a product called Tommy Tape 4' x 10'. It is like a self bonding rescue tape for masts. I used two rolls and it has not leaked a drop. Covered with a Sunbrella cover.

Hello All,

Attached please find the photo of the Erie Queen (formally Buckeye Queen) finally sailing after extensive refit.

We started about 11 years ago working part time on her. She had sunk at the dock on the Potomac River in Washington DC before we purchased her and was then moved to Sandusky, OH on Lake Erie. Every system has been replaced including engine, electrical, plumbing all rigging, sails, etc., etc., etc. The interior, deck, bottom, etc., etc., etc. has been varnished, painted, barrier coated. Way too many things to list here. She is now ready for another 40+ years of sailing.

As many on this site know it is defiantly a labor of love and to go on the first sail, well you all know!!! This site and members have been a VERY valuable tool during this process.

Thanks to all that contribute and keep this site running.

Hello All,

I have the cockpit cooler from my 44 that I will not be using. It is out of the boat and in good shape.
If anyone is interested it is yours for the asking.

Systems / Shore power inlet
« on: March 14, 2018, 04:44:26 pm »
Hello All,

The good news is spring is right around the corner!!!!

I have the wiring about 75% completed and have a simple question. Where does your shore power inlet come into the boat. My new location for the panels are right above the ice box. I just can not come up with a good location for the inlet receptacle.

Any thoughts????

Hull and Rig / Stay sail traveler parts
« on: November 13, 2017, 03:37:30 pm »
Hello All,

I am looking for the adjustable track stop for the stay sail traveler. One of mine is shot and it is not repairable. Checked with Rig-Rite and it is not available and the complete kit cost more than a complete new system. They were made by Nicro-Fico who is long out of business.

Any help would be appreciated.

Bob,

Sorry about the delay. I have been helping move a Island Packet down the coast to Fort Pierce.

As far as the wiring diagram I do not have anything since I basically tore all the old wiring mess completely out of my boat and when I say mess I mean it... In the process right now of rewiring and it is going great.

Hello Bob,

Congratulations on your purchase. I bought one from salvage and have gutted her and have her just about finished. They are built like tanks and I know you will not be sorry no matter how much work she needs.

Please feel free to holler at me anytime you need any advice. Believe me when I say I have seen every inch of mine.

Good luck.

Engines and Drive Train / Re: Used fuel tanks
« on: October 06, 2017, 09:51:03 am »
Dynamite!!! No not really. I had removed the engine prior to the tanks, which made it a piece of cake. Also the entire engine room had been stripped of all equipment, wiring, etc. as well. I really do not know if they would come out with the engine in place. I guess I was lucking in that case.

I had new tanks made as mine had bad pitting and corrosion on the bulkhead side. The original company that made them for CSY is still in business. I called them and they had the exact drawings and made two perfect replacements.

The new tanks are in and waiting for the engine.
