Title: Shore power inlet
Post by: Mike Zofchak on March 14, 2018, 04:44:26 PM
Hello All,

The good news is spring is right around the corner!!!!

I have the wiring about 75% completed and have a simple question. Where does your shore power inlet come into the boat. My new location for the panels are right above the ice box. I just can not come up with a good location for the inlet receptacle.

Any thoughts????

Mike,
Long time no talk. Sounds like you are coming along. All the CSYs, including mine, have the ac inlet on the stbd side in the first or second  step of the stairwell, because of the proximity to the electrical system. I wanted to change it over to the port side but figured it wasn't' worth  the effort. Just a longer shore power cord for me. Keep in touch.
Jules

Hi Mike, locating it near to the electrical panels is good.  Mine was placed on the inside of the cockpit, stbd  side, forward.  Matthew

My CSY37B (Hull 82) has its shore power on starboard side behind the power panels. Plenty of room in there for panels and busses and galvanic isolators. I've never considered moving it as it would be a pain to have the distribution switch in the galley.
